About

This blog is about how an adventurous and loving family survives, thrives and stays balanced while traveling 24/7.

My Husband and I work and live on tour with the extraordinarily successful Broadway Show, “Wicked”. Both of us work backstage. I am a make-up artist, lucky enough to paint the witch green every night. My Husband is a very talented sound engineer. We travel all over the US with the aMACEing Mace William our 8 month old son, his Nanny Bri, and our hyper Jack Russell, Jetson. Moving every 3 -6 weeks, putting over 40,000 miles a year on our car, we have found ways of creating a loving home wherever we are in the country. Of course, making sure to take full advantage of all the adventures we can find along the way!

It is our hope to inspire more parents to get out and see the world with their kids and their pets.

  1. That is an amazing life. Great jobs and the travel is the best part. I was able to travel the world in my job and I know how great that really is. My only regret was my wife and family stayed home most of the time. Hope to see more. Thanks, Ivan

  2. Wow! I am so glad that I came across your blog while surfing the Freshly Pressed. Amazing photographs and how aMACEing is your baby! New to the blogosphere, but sharing the same passions as you – travel, photography. Food is the extra element in mine I guess!

  3. I really like your blog and the lovely feel it has – I am also really interested in how you and you husband work and live together and constantly change and evole – How do you manage that – I ask as I am really interested in what changes people and why in my writing which I am new to I am evolving some theories so would be great to hear yours..?

    • Living in a constantly changing environment is challenging at times, but for us it is the norm, and for us, it does not feel like change. Does that make sense? Course, when we first started to travel it was a bit more dramatic and took some time to adjust. When we learned to lighten your load physically and emotionally everything worked and changed more efficiently. I find it very interesting that in every city we go to, each city has it’s own pulse or a pace meter. Especially noticeable when driving or ordering coffee! (I read your latest blog, and loved it! FYI) So for example, here Portland everyone moves slower to make sure to be nicer, as opposed to LA where everyone is buzzing around with no regard for other feelings..which city operates more efficiently? ? ? But, I could chat about this stuff all night?

      • Thanks so much for your feedback and I love the way that you linked to the rythmn of cities – I have been observing recently that there is more and more rythmn in what we do, people no longer listen for words, but rythmn and almost that determines the song! You and your family clearly are very adaptable and resourceful, which I think is so important as the world changes around us constantly! I look forward to keeping up with your blog and thanks so much for feedback on mine!

  4. I’m 14, and I’ve moved around quite a bit as well, due to my dad’s job.
It’s hard, but at the same time it’s a pretty exciting experience if you think about it.
You must be having a wild and fun life, moving every couple of weeks!
Love your blog and the pictures :)

By the way, your son looks awesome in sunglasses! :D

  5. What a super suggestion to come see the show! I bought a couple of tickets and am bringing a friend for her birthday. I hope we get to see you. We would love, just love to come back stage and see how the magic works!
